Apple and Cherry Pies Recipe
Makes 4 pies
Perfect in our EK4082 Deep Fill Pie Maker
Ingredients
1 portion of shortcrust pastry
200g fresh or frozen cherries, stones removed
2 large cooking apples
60g golden caster sugar
10g cornflour mixed with a little water
Method
Step 1: Peel and slice the apples into 1-2cm chunks, place them in a large pan and add the cherries and sugar.
Step 2: Cook on a medium heat for approx. 5-6 minutes, until soft, then add the cornflour mixture and stir until it thickens.
Step 3: Divide the pastry in half and roll out, then use the double-sided pastry cutter to cut the base and top- each half will make 2 pies.
Step 4: Line each pie mould in the preheated pie maker with a pastry base and add the filling just below the rim, then add the pastry top and close the pie maker to cook the pies for 10 minutes until well browned.
Step 5: Once cooked, switch off the pie maker and use a heat-resistant spatula to remove the pies from the pie maker and serve.
