No Need to turn oven on, The Salter Aero Grill does it all
Posted by Team Salter on 19th Jun 2024
As we all know, cooking costs more than just the ingredients, and energy bills are continuing to skyrocket amidst the cost-of-living crisis. This leaves many of us searching for ways to cut down on costs in the kitchen. The good news is, an aero grill can help you whip up your breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert while saving you a huge 74% off your energy bills compared to a conventional oven. So, get ready to ditch the oven and revolutionise your cooking at half the cost!
How do Aero Grills work?
An air fryer circulates hot air around ingredients to make the food crisp – much like deep frying, but without the oil. Our Aero Grill goes one step further by using cyclonic grilling technology to circulate air rapidly around food on a high-density grill plate. This replicates your chargrilled favourites without the use of a BBQ or oven grill. So in essence, you receive two appliances for the price of one.
An air fryer cooks food much quicker than an oven as it reaches high temperatures. This means the worktop whizz not only decreases cooking time, but it also decreases the amount of electricity used too.
What can you cook in an Aero Grill?
Or is it more the question of, what can’t you cook in an Aero Grill? The cooking options are endless, from enjoying your favourite frozen foods like chicken nuggets, spring rolls, hamburgers, and even sausage rolls to whipping up a full English in a jiffy. You can even air fry last night’s leftovers back to their crispy former self unlike the soggy reheats you get from a microwave.
Are Aero Grills easy to clean?
I’m sure we are all aware that cleaning the oven can be a daunting task. So, you’ll be pleased to know that it only takes a few minutes to clean an aero grill, and the minimal use of oil means minimal grease and baked-on debris to dispose of. Also, because the Aero Grill is much smaller, it will save you precious time (and money) spent on cleaning detergents and dishwasher cycles.

The Best Roast Potatoes
Fluffy on the inside yet crispy on the outside, these air fryer roasties are ready to revolutionise your Sunday dinner game.
Ingredients
- Olive oil
- Smoked paprika
- Garlic granules
- Salt and Pepper
Method
Peel and chop your potatoes into cubes, then soak them for 30 minutes to achieve the perfect golden coating once cooked. Once soaked, place them into a large bowl and coat them in oil and seasonings. Next, evenly place the potatoes into the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes. Toss them and cook for another 10 minutes depending on personal preference.
Halloumi Skewers
Incredibly easy to make yet so deliciously tasty, halloumi skewers loaded with grilled veggies are a firm lunch or dinner winner. And nothing quite beats the final results like an air fryer does.
Ingredients
- Halloumi, cut into squares
- Olive oil
- Onion, chopped
- Garlic, halved
- Mixed peppers, chopped
- Mushrooms, chopped
- Chilli flakes
- Honey
Method
An air fryer allows you to effortlessly cook your halloumi in one go – no flipping required! And even better, expect deliciously crisp and golden brown results in 8 to 10 minutes tops. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chilli flakes to create a sweet and spicy honey glaze and you will have a dreamy combination of flavours to indulge in.
Next, simply coat the chopped veg with little oil and use the grill setting to chargrill for 8 to 10 minutes, then ensemble your skewers!
Turn them into Mediterranean style pittas, if you fancy. Brush your pittas with little oil then use the grill setting to grill for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
