Hot Chocolate Tiramisu Recipe

Ingredients

For the cake
1 tbsp smooth nut butter
3 tbsp sugar
1 heaped tbsp cocoa powder
1 egg
2 heaped tbsp self-raising flour
2 heaped tbsp almond flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

For the coffee hot chocolate
2 tbsp hot chocolate flakes
100ml milk
2 shots espresso
1 tbsp syrup

For the cream
200g cream cheese
100g yoghurt
3-4 tbsp icing sugar/syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Method

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 150°C
Step 2: Mix the nut butter and sugar together in a medium sized mixing bowl until they’ve formed a fluffy paste
Step 3: Add your cocoa powder and a splash of boiling water and mix this wel
Step 4: Add your egg and mix until a liquid paste forms, then add your vanilla, flours, and baking powder until you have a cake batter
Step 5: Pour your cake batter into a small, lined baking tray and bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cake springs back, then remove it from the oven and leave to cool
Step 6: Whip your cream ingredients together
Step 7: Add your milk and chocolate flakes to the hot chocolate maker, and select the third setting to heat up the hot chocolate, and, once warm, add two shots of espresso and syrup to taste
Step 8: Layer your tiramisu in a small dish, starting with a layer of crumbled cake, and flatten this out with a spoon
Step 9: Pour over 3-4 tbsp of your hot chocolate, then spread out half the cream mixture and repeat the process
Step 10: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, then dust with cocoa powder and serve
