Light, fluffy and packed with warm, comforting flavour, these slow-cooked cinnamon rolls are an ideal addition to weekend brunching, or as a treat, perfectly paired with tea or coffee.

INGREDIENTS

Cinnamon filling

40 g softened unsalted butter

70g brown sugar

1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon

Glaze

70g icing sugar

2 tbsp milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of cinnamon

Dough

400g pre-made dough

METHOD

Step 1

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out your dough into a rectangle until the dough is around 1cm thick.

Step 2

Prepare your filling by adding softened butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Combine until achieving a paste-like texture.

Step 3

Spread your prepared filling evenly on your dough. Once spread, roll dough into a sausage shape, and cut into 8 equal pieces.

Step 4

Line the base of your slow cooker with grease proof paper and lay out the prepared rolls on the base of your slow cooker. Switch on your slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours 30 minutes.

Step 5

Prepare your glaze by mixing your icing sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.

Step 6

Once your cinnamon rolls are cooked through, allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Top with your glaze while rolls are still warm before enjoying with a cup of tea or coffee.
