Air Fryer Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe

INGREDIENTS
3 chicken legs
50g cornflakes
30g all-purpose flour
40ml buttermilk
1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp ground sage
salt and pepper, to taste
METHOD
Step 1
In a wide bowl or on a plate, season the flour with salt and pepper, then dip the chicken in the flour so it’s fully coated, then shake off any excess.
Step 2
Place the cornflakes in a resealable bag and ensure there is no air in the bag before sealing, then crush the cornflakes with a rolling pin.
Step 3
In a large bowl, mix the buttermilk, mustard, cayenne pepper, paprika and sage, then dip the chicken in the buttermilk and coat in the crushed cornflakes.
Step 4
Spray the chicken with oil and place in a 200°C air fryer to cook for approximately 5-10 minutes.
Step 5
Reduce the temperature to 190°C and cook for a further 10-15 minutes, checking that the chicken is thoroughly cooked before serving.
