A healthier option to a Chinese takeaway classic. Pair with rice for the perfect fakeaway at home.

INGREDIENTS

90g chicken breast strips

40 g rolled porridge oats

25g self-raising flour

10g toasted sesame seeds

1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon powder

1 1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp soy sauce

1/4 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp ground black pepper

60ml chicken stock

METHOD

Step 1

Coat the chicken with ½ tsp salt, black pepper, and garlic and then chill for approximately 4 hours.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, sesame seeds, ½ tsp salt and chicken bouillon powder and set aside.

Step 3

In a second bowl, combine the flour, ½ tsp salt, onion powder, basil, oregano, soy sauce, and chicken stock.

Step 4

Dip the chicken into the stock mixture, then roll in the sesame seed mixture.

Step 5

In a 200°C air fryer, add the chicken and cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and the chicken is cooked through.
