Black Pepper Steak with Asparagus Spears Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 x 200g sirloin steak
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1: Place a cast iron pan into the pizza oven and preheat for 4-6 minutes
Step 2: While the pizza oven is preheating, brush each steak with ½ tbsp of canola oil on each side, then season with salt and black pepper to taste
Step 3: Toss the asparagus spears in the remaining canola oil then season with salt and black pepper
Step 4: When the oven is ready, place each steak within the pan and return to the oven
Step 5: After 2 minutes, flip the steak and add the asparagus spears
Step 6: After another 2 minutes, flip the steaks again and cook for 2 more minutes (6 minutes total) for a medium steak
Step 7: Remove the steak and asparagus from the pan and serve immediately with your choice of sauce
