Glazed Tofu, Rice and Steamed Vegetables

100g sushi rice
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp kimchi

For the tofu
150g tofu 
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp maple syrup
Sprinkle of garlic powder
Salt and pepper


Step 1: Cut two 2cm thick slices of tofu, and slice these diagonally both ways, to create a checkered pattern, making sure not to cut all the way through
Step 2: Mix the ingredients for the tofu marinade together and place the tofu sliced side down into the marinade
Step 3: Fill your steamer with water to the max line, then add the rice to the infill, with 1 tbsp rice vinegar and place it inside the basket and set a timer for 30 minutes
Step 4: When your rice is 5-10 minutes away from being ready, add another level to the steamer, add your broccoli and a pinch of salt
Step 5: When your rice is almost done cooking, add the tofu to a greased frying pan and fry on medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, pouring the rest of the marinade over when almost ready
Step 6: Once your rice is cooked, add it to your serving bowl, top with steamed broccoli, kimchi, tofu and top with your choice of seasoning
