Chicken Tikka Recipe


2 medium sized chicken breasts, diced
150ml Greek yoghurt
2.5cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 garlic clove
2 tbsp flour
1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
1 ½ tbsp butter
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp salt
½ tsp red chilli powder


Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients except for the chicken breasts into a large bowl and mix well
Step 2: Pierce the chicken pieces with a fork, then add them to the mixture and leave to marinate in the fridge for 2-3 hours
Step 3: Bring the chicken pieces back to room temperature before cooking, then thread them onto skewers, ensuring the pieces do not touch each other
Step 4: Place the skewers in a lightly oiled frying pan and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning halfway through cooking
Step 5: Baste the chicken with the butter and cook for a further minute or until lightly charred at the edges and fully cooked through, then serve
