  • 250 g plain flour
  • 360 ml whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 rashers of cooked bacon
  • maple syrup, to serve

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the plain flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, and whole milk.
  3. Transfer the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and whisk to combine.
  4. Lightly grease the waffle maker's cooking plates and preheat the waffle maker.
  5. Pour the waffle batter into the centre of each non-stick cooking plate until they are approximately 3/4 full.
  6. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Top the waffles with the cooked bacon and a drizzle of maple syrup to serve.
