Plain Waffles with Crispy Bacon and Maple Syrup
250 g plain flour
360 ml whole milk
2 large eggs
6 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp white sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
Crispy bacon (cooked), to serve
Maple syrup, to serve
Step 1: In a large bowl, mix together the plain flour, white sugar, baking powder and salt.
Step 2: Using a separate bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract and whole milk.
Step 3: Transfer the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl of wet ingredients and combine.
Step 4: Lightly grease the non-stick coated cooking plates.
Preheat the waffle maker.
Step 5: Pour the waffle batter into the centre of each non-stick coated cooking plate, until they are approx. ¾ full.
Step 6: Carefully close the lid and cook for approx. 5 minutes, until golden brown.
Step 7: Top with the rashers of crispy bacon and drizzle of maple syrup.
