A national treasure, the perfect comfort food for a cold winters day.
INGREDIENTS
500g beef
750ml beef stock
500ml bottle of ale
100g green beans, sliced
3 medium carrots. peeled and sliced
2 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 large onion, thickly sliced
1 parsnip, peeled and sliced
1 turnip, peeled and sliced
1 sprig of rosemary, finely chopped
1 spring of thyme, finely chopped
vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste
warm bread to serve
METHOD
Step 1
Combine all ingredients into the ceramic cooking pot and stir thoroughly.
Step 2
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Step 3
Serve with warm bread or on a bed of rice.
