Air Fryer Apple Turnovers Recipe
Great in our 3.2L Air Fryer EK2818
Ingredients
2 Apples, Cubed
1 Sheet of Puff Pastry
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp White Sugar
For the glaze
125g Icing Sugar
15ml Water
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
Handful of Walnuts
Method
Step 1: Add diced apples to a saucepan and top with water.
Step 2: Add cinnamon and white sugar to the pan.
Step 3: Simmer for approximately 3 minutes until the mixture is soft and caramelized.
Step 4: Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Step 5: Roll out puff pastry and cut into evenly sized squares, depending on how small or large you want your turnovers. Remember to leave around 1’’ around the perimeter to allow for folding.
Step 6: Add a small portion of apple to the middle of your square, fold over the pastry to cover the filling.
Step 7: Crimp the edges with a fork to secure.
Step 8: Add the parcels to the air fryer basket making sure that they are evenly spaced and not overlapping.
Step 9: Set the air fryer to 150°C and cook for 15 minutes.
Step 10: Remove from air fryer and set aside to cool.
Step 11: Whisk together icing sugar, water and vanilla until it forms a thin glaze.
Step 12: Drizzle the glaze onto the turnovers and top with walnuts.
